For Last Minute Gifts – Shop Locally

I’ve done ninety percent of my Christmas shopping locally this year and its been an enjoyable and stress-free experience. With the exception of one gift that had to come from Nordstrom, I was able to avoid the malls completely.

If you are like me you may be running around today finishing up your shopping. If you have last minute gifts to buy here are some local suggestions where you’ll find a unique selection and be able to get in and out quickly without fighting over parking or dealing with the crowds.

Ah Love Oil & Vinegar – Shirlington – They have all kinds of gift items for everyone on your list. I was in Shirlington last week and needed my own olive oil and vinegar (since I’m now addicted to these flavors on my salad) and purchased the same combination as a hostess gift for a friend’s party. They even wrapped it up in tissue paper with ribbon for me.

Bishop Boutique – Old Town -Not only does Bishop carry beautiful shoes and boots but she has a lovely selection of handbags and accessories. Put these boots on your Christmas list and give this sparkly bag to someone special.

Purple Goose- Delray- Last weekend we went to Richmond to visit cousins for a party and, as usual, I waited until 2 hours before leaving town to buy ornaments for the gift exchange. My last minute ornament from Purple Goose was a big hit at the party.

Reunions – Centre Plaza – Reunions has tons of gifts and many of them are under $30. They also have unique stocking-stuffers. I saw these purse/wine carriers the other day. What a clever way to present a gift of wine.

UnWined – Bradlee I have a gift exchange tonight with a $30 limit that I completely forgot about and was at a loss for what to get.
