E.nopi Helps Children Learn
Tutoring programs have become quite popular in recent years as parents are looking for new opportunities to enhance their child’s learning and give them a heard start. In fact, just recently, a leading educational program called E.nopi opened in Old Town. The program began in Korea about 30 years ago and now has over 2.5 million children enrolled world-wide. E.nopi in Old Town is English based and provides education in the areas of Math Reading and Writing.
Alexandria Lifestyle recently had the opportunity to catch up with owner, Jesse Sample.
AL: How did you get involved with E.nopi?
Jessie: I began working with E.nopi Math, Reading, and Writing when my husband and I were living in Westchester, NY. I was hired as the Head Instructor in a growing E.nopi center, and I quickly fell in love with the curriculum and the structure of the program. I was able to see the effectiveness of the program first hand, as well as the students’ enjoyment. I never would have believed that children would enjoy an educational program so much (They even get excited about the homework!). When my husband’s job brought us to Alexandria, I was in search of a similar program, and none compared to E.nopi. After much discussion and planning, we decided to open our own E.nopi center in Old Town Alexandria.
AL: what made you decide on a location in Old Town?
Jessie: We love the Old Town Alexandria community! After being here for only a few short months, we quickly saw the need for the E.nopi program in this area. The families in Alexandria are invested in their children’s education and they are looking for the very best options when it comes to choosing after school and enrichment programs. There are certainly other options out there, but none compare to the depth of the E.nopi curriculum.
AL: Who is the typical e.nopi student?
Jessie: We have a very wide variety of students!! This is my favorite thing about E.nopi! We individualize our curriculum for each student who walks through our doors. We have students as young as 3 years old and as old as 8th grade! We work with students who are far ahead of their classmates and looking for extra enrichment, and we also work with students who need the extra help to keep up with their classes. The curriculum in individually tailored to meet the specific needs of each student enrolled.
AL: Which is your most popular program?
Our most popular program is the Early E.nopi program. This program is geared towards our youngest students between 3 and 5 years old. It allows for children to get an early start to building a strong foundation in both Math and Reading. Depending on the students skill set, parents choose 2 subject areas to focus on during our one hour per week class. They can choose between our E.nopi Math, E.nopi English and Handwriting Without Tears programs. Students who begin classes with us at an early age develop a solid understanding of the concepts that underlie future Math and Reading skills. Another popular program is our Advantage program. It allows for a combination of both E.nopi Math and E.nopi reading within a 90 minute class. It is the best value and perfect for elementary and middle school students looking to gain benefit from both of our programs.
AL: What kind of feedback are you getting from kindergarten parents?
Jessie: Kindergarten is now more challenging than ever. The academic and social ability range in a kindergarten classroom is incredibly broad, and because of this, parents love the individualized learning that their children receive at E.nopi. Students who are struggling to keep up with their class come to us to build confidence and master skills that may have been missed in school. The students who are ahead of their classmates can come to E.nopi for a challenge with new material to stimulate their learning. Our Kindergarten parents love the program and its kid-friendly approach to learning.
AL: Are you getting any feedback from teachers?
Jessie: Teachers want their students to be successful. E.nopi helps each student reach that success! We may not always be working on the specific lessons as the student is learning in school, but our work will always be complimenting the students’ work. The E.nopi program teaches more than memorization. Our curriculum teaches students to think critically and apply the skills that they are learning. Because of the critical thinking focus of our program, students are able to apply newly learned skills from E.nopi to their schoolwork as well.
AL: what do you like best about this business/career?
Jessie: I love working with the students and watching their confidence grow! I feel so blessed that every day I have the opportunity to help children conquer something new, even if it is something small. I know these kids have a lifetime of learning ahead of them, and with the help of E.nopi, it will be built upon a strong foundation!
E.nopi is having an Open House on October 22 from 3-5 pm.
