Finding My Holiday Spirit
Now that a super busy week and the craziest weekend of the whole year is over I was finally able to relax and do some fun holiday things around my house.
I started buying Christmas decorations 3 years ago (when we had our first tree as a family) and every year I add to my still small collection. When I was Black Friday shopping last week (which seems like a month ago) the window display at European Country Living caught my eye and I ended up buying these really pretty garlands and some sparkly blue ornaments and decorations.
This year I did a second little pink one because everyone needs a fake pink Christmas tree
on their kitchen counter.
Maybe a little shabby; maybe a little flashy
but I really love this tree too
I also found a little time to make my Christmas Tree cookies. If you like butter cookies here’s a great recipe. I’ve tested a number of different recipes for these cookies and I found this one a few years ago on allrecipes and I think its the best by far. Many recipes call for Crisco instead of butter and while the shape of the pressed cookie looks better I think the taste is inferior. This recipe calls for powdered sugar instead of granulated and egg yolks instead of whole eggs.
